Few things life can scare a man as much as losing his hair. No matter how brave the individual might consider himself to be the thoughts of losing his precious locks is enough to strike fear into the hearts of all men. The reality is that well over 85% of men will experience some degree of hairloss during their lifetime. Indeed 90% of all men are destined to experience actual baldness - it’s only a matter of time.

Why do men fear losing their hair so much? After all is it really that important? That comes down to your own point of view. There’s so much emphasis put on hair as a status symbol. From characters in books to musicians and movie stars. Those with the thickest hair are always portrayed as the most popular/sexiest/richest guy around.

Conversely if we look at popular entertainment like The Simpsons where the ultimate goofball is a bald guy called Homer. Bald men are seen as something to be ridiculed more so than anything else. Or are they?

How much of the stigma attached to male pattern baldness has to do with the feelings of the person involved versus the prejudice of society. Does this prejudice even exist? It may have but this type of social stigma is becoming historical fact as our society evolves and grows in its understanding and acceptance of all types of people and situations.

Baldness has become not only acceptable but very chic and fashionable in many places. Bald men are no longer seen as lacking virilty - actually quite the opposite. Bald is in and seems set to stay that way for a long time to come.

So if baldness is now fashionable why do so many men continue to hide themselves under truly terrible hairpieces? Why do many men suffer the excrutiating pain of botched hair transplants? Again this comes down to the individuals perception of their own self-worth. If a man has grown up believing (or being led to believe) that his hair is more important than his kindness, ability to love or contribute to society in any great way then when his hair does start falling out he loses all faith in himself. This is simply because he’s been ‘brainwashed’ into believing that he is nothing without his hair. This is how the hairloss industry profits from the misery of others.

For anyone reading this who is going through the pain of losing his hair then realize this. It’s just hair. The whole is far more important than the sum of its parts and your hair is just a very small part of you. Will losing your hair affect your ability to work? No. Will losing your hair make you less desirable? No. Will losing your hair make you less capable of achieving all your dreams? Absolutely not.

It’s just hair guys. Accept that it will go and move on with your life. You’ll be a happier person for it.

Laser hair removal is quickly becoming a very popular option for those looking for permanent hair removal. However, laser hair removal is not for everyone. To find out if laser hair removal is right for you, take a look at some of the following tips.

1. Realize that laser hair removal works best on dark hair with light skin. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you have to be the perfect candidate to have success. It’s best to visit a clinic to find out whether or not laser hair removal will be beneficial for you.

Some have also found an alternative option to work well. This includes artificially darkening light hairs in order for the laser to properly target them.

2. Make sure you get a consultation! You’ll want to meet the technician and have him or her perform a test pulse before you commit to anything. You’ll want to find a clinic that is dedicated to your needs. Every laser hair removal treatment is different depending on the person’s skin and hair type. Find a clinic with a friendly and informative staff that is committed to your results. Don’t be afraid to shop around.

3. Avoid tweezing and waxing for at least 6 weeks before your treatment. The key is to avoid removing hair by the roots during this time.

4. During the treatment, expect some pain. I’m certainly not going to lie to you and tell you that this is a painless process. However, it is certainly bearable. It is often described as a rubber band slapping your skin or tweezing multiple hairs at once.

Provide your technician with some feedback regarding your pain. This will allow them to supply you with the proper coolants or numbing creams. They may also decide to adjust the intensity of the laser.

Fortunately, there’s a simple solution.

With 4-5 one-hour laser treatments, men can have the chest they’ve always wanted. There’s no reason to put up with the pain of waxing. Simply visit your local laser hair removal clinic.

There are many types of laser hair removal systems that you can choose from. Each laser hair removal system has specific advantages and disadvantages depending on your skin and hair color. The three main laser hair removal systems include the ND Yag, Ruby, and Diode lasers.

The ND Yag laser is considered to be more effective when treating dark or tanned skin. It is also especially useful when treating coarser hair. For many, this may be a good solution for chest hair removal. One of the popular ND Yag lasers is the Candela GentleLase Plus.

The Ruby laser is best suited for those with lighter skin. It’s small spot size makes it good for smaller areas. The Ruby laser provides for a more comfortable treatment. Some common ruby lasers include the EpiTouch and the Epilaser

The Diode laser features a longer wavelength, giving it an advantage in treating a wide variety of skin types.

The Alexandrite is a unique laser that can be customized to treat hair with different degrees of coarseness. This is achieved through a versatile range of spot sizes. Another advantage of the Alexandrite lasers is that they are fast. They can remove male chest hair in about 30-40 minutes.

All of these lasers are good. However, your technician will be able to tell you which type of laser would be best for your particular skin and hair type.

Contemporary therapists will assure you that the oil of rosemary is more immediately absorbed into the scalp and is preferred to the Caesar salad approach above, which probably feels pretty strange when the leaves begin to cool down . . .

Jojoba oil also has a long-lived reputation as a hair growth stimulant. While the other leaves and herbs in this solution may not have a record, in any age, from any civilization, of causing new hair growth, they smell wonderful.

But it is not only hearts and flowers with this particular mixture. A double blind, placebo controlled study proved this mixture effective in causing new hair growth in 44% of the 84 individuals who took part in the study.

44% massaged this formula of natural, aromatic oils into their scalp each night for a seventh month period and the results were positive.

Here is the hair oil recipe:

· 3 drops of essential oil of thyme
· 3 drops of essential oil of lavender
· 3 drops of essential oil of rosemary
· 3 drops of essential oil of cedarwood
· 1/8 cup of grapeseed oil

Mix the oils and aromatics together and bottle. Apply several drops of the mixture to areas of your scalp where you are experiencing hair loss. Massage the oil into your scalp for five minutes. Be sure that you do not take the oil internally or get the oils near the area of your eyes. Do not wash out until morning.

At bedtime, be sure to cover you r pillow with a protective slip, and cover your pillow with a towel to absorb excess oil from your head.

The success of this oil treatment will not occur for everyone, but 44% of those using it discovered a vital improvement in hair growth! The absolute key to this oil treatment is the 5-minute massage of the oil into the scalp, and the commitment of nightly application for seven months. And if you find that you are in the percentile that benefits from new hair growth, by all means, keep using it!

Okay, here is a powerful formula to stop hair loss, although it might be rather difficult to gather the necessary ingredients.

It came from the treasured Papyrus Embers, written down in 1500 BC. The treatment was initially prepared for Ses, the mother of his Majesty the King of Upper and Lower Egypt. The King was Teta, and he was deceased at the time of this stellar concoction:

Toes-of-a-Dog
Rufuse of Dates
Hoof of an Ass
Blood from the neck of the Gabgu Bird.

Put in real balsam and rub therewith.

This formula must have worked quite well. Who are we to doubt it? Skepticism is not the healthiest frame of mind. When you are looking for a solution to stop your hair loss, progressive thinking will lead to the best solutions, which thankfully will be without dog toes.

A few centuries went by after Ses and Teta were entombed. And in 400 BC, in Greece, Hippocrates, the Father of modern medicine, began to treat hair loss with a strange mixture. He ground cumin with pigeon droppings. He ground horseradish and beetroots and nettles. This was applied to remedy hair loss. At the same time, on the other side of the world, in China, roots were being used successfully in preventing hair loss. To this day, the herb of Nettles is used in hair loss formulas and oral prescriptions based in Traditional Chinese medicine.

The pigeon droppings have not been used since, but Hippocrates was on the right track.

And then came a major breakthrough in the diagnosis of hair loss and male pattern baldness with the advent of the Eunuch. It was in the Middle Ages, when strange things were done to little boys to keep their singing voices high and their customer service skills paramount. They made better servants without a sex drive, so they were “chosen” for the brotherhood of the Eunuchs. They were castrated, ouch. They never lost their hair. It was a practice that was experiencing resurgence from the Golden Age of Greece, where the practice first began.

Aristotle made note that neither Eunuchs nor women grew hair on their chests, and he figured this was because of a lack of testes. Most women have probably never considered it much of a lack. within their personal structure.

By the mid-Renaissance, peculiarly effective herbal treatments caused hair to grow in bald spots. Even though Culpepper called it “marvvelous” and close to miraculous, it was effective for other chemical reasons.

Here is Culpepper’s solution from 1653:

Peach Tree
If the kernels be bruised
And boiled in vinegar until
They become thick and
Applied to the head,
Marvelously, make the hair grow
Again upon bald places or
Where it is too thin.

Peach pits are used today, ground up in topical formulas, and when mixed with other herbal elements and compounds, they have a good record of growing hair in thin spots.

Some solutions from the past are still with us, so they were not so far-fetched after all.

Everyday we shed hair regardless of age or how healthy our hair is, just the same as we shed skin. Most of us fortunately never have any problems with noticeable hair loss, but then there are an ever increasing amount of us that do experience the almost ‘nightmare’ of losing our hair at all different ages. Once hair has been lost it is normally replaced in a reasonable amount of time, but it is only when the hair is not replaced for whatever reason that may be, that the loss of hair starts to become noticeable.

There are many myths of hair loss as usual, just as there are with any medical condition, but there are numerous known contributors to hair loss, that are present in most of our lives. Excessive bleaching and colouring of your hair and the constant use of products that are full of chemicals can be detrimental for your hair’s condition. The process of aging can have the effect of hair loss even if you have lived a stress free healthy life, and can cause you to search for hair loss treatment.

Most drugs whether they have been prescribed by doctors or taken for recreational purposes can not only have an effect on practically all of your bodily functions, and lot term effect on your body mentally and physically, but can also contribute to the loss of hair at all stages of life. Any type of skin infection or hormonal imbalance with women can influence the loss of hair, and so can any illness that has taken a hard toll on your body.

One of the most common thoughts of hair loss is down to stress, and working a lot of hours and spending most of your working week stressed up to your eyeballs, and not been able to distress before you commence with another stressful day at work seems to contribute to a lot of hair loss across the nation. A simply remedy to this is work less hours, or do not let your work stress you up as much. This is quite often easy to say, and very difficult to put into practice.

In one of my other articles, I revealed that plugged hair follicles are one of the main conditions that start hair thinning and baldness. The other condition is insufficient blood circulation in the scalp.

When you don’t have enough blood circulating in your scalp, then your hair roots don’t get enough nutrients to support the life and strength of your hair in the follicle.

The hardest place to get good circulation is at the top of your scalp. It is the furthest point away from your heart. It is the area that is less stimulated. The sides of your head are stimulated as you sleep and move your head around the pillow. That is one reason why most people still have hair on the sides of their head while the top is completely bald.

So what the ways you can increase blood circulation to the top of your head?

Here are two ways to do it.

* Use herbal remedies to increase body and scalp blood circulation * Use hot and cold hydrotherapy

Use herbal remedies to increase body and scalp blood circulation

There are several herbs that provide increase circulation to all parts of the body. Two good standby remedies are ginkgo biloba and cayenne pepper. Use ginkgo biloba as indicated on the label. Ginkgo increases the blood circulation in the brain and all parts of the head.

Use Cayenne pepper in the formulation made of Heart Foods Company. This Cayenne strengthens the heart giving it the ability to pump blood to the furthest reaches of the body.

There are two other herbal formulations that have recently come out to provide increase circulation to all parts of the body – vital cell and Arjuna.

Vital cell is a Chinese herbal combination that is available in the US. It is a powerful remedy that helps to re-establish small veins that have closed off. This creates more pathways for blood to go where it is needed and where it once went.

Arjuna is another herb that comes from another country – India. It is now readily available in the US. Arjuna is the latest herb to be exposed as good for preventing and reducing arthrosclerosis. By reducing narrowing of the arteries in the head, strokes can be avoided and a side benefit is the scalp get more blood.

Use Hot and Cold Hydrotherapy

I have talked about this natural way of bringing more blood into the scalp. It’s a technique I use every time I shower. At the end of your shower, run hot water over your head for 20 seconds, turn the hot water off and allow the cold water to run over your head for 20 seconds.

Do this hot-cold water technique three – four times and end with the cold water. This technique allow blood to move in and out of the lower layers of your scalp giving you a blood massage and providing more nutrients to your hair roots. As a side benefit, you are bringing in more blood to your brain giving you more brain power as long as use this technique.

Use herbs to improve you blood circulation to your scalp and use hot-cold water to blood massage your scalp. By doing this, you will find less hair loss and you may even start to see some hair growth.

Are you tired of waxing, shaving, and plucking? Well, if you’re like many women, you probably would answer with a resounding “Yes!”. It’s simply not any fun to constantly shave and tweeze and go through endless torture just to get ourselves looking our best. And it isn’t just women. Many men are tired of shaving every morning. Fortunately, there’s a fairly simple solution for long-term hair removal.

Laser hair removal is becoming a very popular solution for those that are looking for smooth, silky skin. This technology has been proven to work well on a variety of skin types. The pain involved is minimal compared to other techniques. Many people have compared it to being swatted with a rubber band.

However, keep in mind that your skin texture and hair color are a significant factor in determining your success with laser hair removal. The process works best for people whose hair color is darker than their skin color. However, technology is always improving. It is best to talk with a number of clinics to determine if laser hair removal is a viable option for you.

One thing you should keep in mind when contemplating laser hair removal treatment is the fact that it is not completely permanent. Although it is one of the most permanent solutions available today, you should expect some re-growth. This varies from person to person, but most people will tell you that any re-growth of hair was thinner and less worrisome.

If you do decide to try laser hair removal, you’ll need to stay away from the tanning bed for a while. Tanning reduces the effectiveness and will require you to have an increased number of sessions.

Because everyone’s skin and hair types is different, laser hair removal must be individualized for each patient. It is crucial to find a clinic that has a friendly staff that is dedicated to getting you optimal results.

When looking around at different clinics, make sure you get a consultation. You’ll want to meet the technician and have him or her perform a test pulse before you commit to anything. It’s important that you find a clinic that is dedicated to your individual needs.

When it comes to cost, laser hair removal is fairly pricey. However, as with any type of medical operation, you should look for a reputable clinic with experience rather than the cheapest clinic. Every laser hair removal treatment is different depending on the person’s skin and hair type. Find a clinic with a friendly and informative staff that is committed to your results. Don’t be afraid to shop around.
